The Xenarc Technology
With the technology of the Xenarc family, OSRAM offers a new, more powerful brightness. The Xenarc gas discharge lamp has no filament. Instead an arc is created between two electrodes in a quartz bulb filled with xenon gas and metal salts. When high voltage is applied, the lamp ignites. The system consists of an electronic igniter and an electronic ballast.
The light of the Xenarc lamps is between 4,100 and 4,500 Kelvin. This colour temperature of the light is much closer to that of natural daylight. They provide better illumination of the road, and follow-up driving is more comfortable and does not quickly tire the eyes.
The Xenarc Cool Blue Intense generates a cool blue light with up to 6,000 Kelvin. Thanks to innovative manufacturing methods, the luminous efficacy of the XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE has been increased by up to 20 % compared to conventionally coated xenon lamps. In the up to 40-meter longer light cone of the xenon headlamp, the road is illuminated as bright as day, shadows and contrasts are particularly prominent, resulting in increased driving safety.
The Xenarc D3 and D4 systems are renowned for their outstanding performance. OSRAM XENARC D3 and D4 HID light sources are mercury-free and therefore particularly environmentally friendly and offer all the advantages of the OSRAM existing XENARC lamps.
The maximum power consumption is 35 watts at a nominal voltage of 42 volts (test voltage 13.5 volts).
The luminous flux measures between 2,800 and 3,200 lumens, depending on the model.
The average service life is up to 3,000 hours.
