The Xenarc Technology
Higher light intensity is guaranteed by the new Xenarc technology from Osram. The Xenarc gas discharge lamp has no filament. Instead, an arc is created between two electrodes in a quartz bulb filled with xenon gas and metal salts. When high voltage is applied, the lamp ignites. The system consists of an electronic igniter and an electronic ballast.
Since Xenarc lamps operate in the range of 4,100 to 4,500 Kelvin, the colour temperature of the light is much closer to that of natural daylight. They provide better illumination of the road, and night-time driving can be done more comfortably and without rapid eye fatigue.
The Xenarc Cool Blue Intense generates a cool blue light with up to 6000 Kelvin. Thanks to innovative manufacturing methods, the luminous efficacy of the XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE has been increased by up to 20 % compared to conventionally coated xenon lamps. In the up to 40-meter longer light cone of the xenon headlamp, the road is illuminated as bright as day, shadows and contrasts are particularly prominent, resulting in increased driving safety.
The maximum power consumption is 35 watts at a nominal voltage of 85 volts (test voltage 13.5 volts). The luminous flux measures between 2,800 and 3,200 lumens, depending on the model.
The average service life is up to 3,000 hours.
