The Xenarc Technology
With the technology of the Xenarc family, OSRAM offers a new, more powerful brightness. The Xenarc gas discharge lamp has no filament. Instead, an arc is created between two electrodes in a quartz bulb filled with xenon gas and metal salts. When high voltage is applied, the lamp ignites. The system consists of an electronic igniter and an electronic ballast.
Since Xenarc lamps operate in the range of 4,100 to 4,500 Kelvin, the colour temperature of the light is much closer to that of natural daylight. They provide better illumination of the road, and night-time driving can be done more comfortably and without rapid eye fatigue.
The Xenarc Original Gas Discharge Lamp offers daylight-like light characteristics with a colour temperature of 4,150 Kelvin, with a brighter, whiter light that does not overstrain the driver's eyes. It offers up to 300 % more luminous efficiency than halogen lamps and is characterised by up to 30 % less energy consumption.
The maximum power consumption is 35 watts at a nominal voltage of 85 volts (test voltage 13.5 volts).
The luminous flux measures between 2800 and 3200 lumen depending on the model.
The average service life is up to 3,000 hours.
