Function of a PDC sensor
The ultrasonic sensors on the bumpers work according to the well-known echo sounder principle, which is also used by bats for orientation. The parking sensor 66209127801 sends short ultrasonic pulses that are reflected by any obstacles. From the transit time of the echo signals received again by the sensor, the control unit detects the distance to the obstacle and sends optical-acoustic warning signals to the driver.
