Function of a PDC sensor
Ultrasonic-based parking systems are equipped with sensors that are integrated into the vehicle's bumpers. These sensors can be painted in the car color so that they are not easily recognized. The sensors send and receive ultrasonic-based signals, which they then transmit to the control unit. The control unit calculates the distance between the sensor and the obstacle from the transit time of the ultrasonic signals.
