Leisure batteries for motorhomes, caravans and boats

Here you will find leisure and auxiliary batteries of our own brand Electronicx in AGM and GEL technology, all with 12 V and 80 to 140 Ah. They supply lights, cool box, water pump and other consumers when no shore power is available. In the battery finder on this page you can search by capacity, dimensions and polarity.

Starter battery or leisure battery?

A starter battery delivers a very high current for a few seconds to start the engine. A leisure battery supplies an even current over hours and is discharged and charged again and again. It is not intended as a starter battery.

Sizes of the AGM and GEL leisure batteries

Capacity Dimensions (L × W × H)
80 Ah 242 × 175 × 190 mm
100 Ah 278 × 175 × 190 mm
110 Ah 315 × 175 × 190 mm
120 Ah 353 × 175 × 190 mm
140 Ah 393 × 175 × 190 mm

The dimensions apply to AGM and GEL and to all editions of the same capacity.

What capacity do I need?

Add up the daily consumption of your devices: power in watts times operating hours gives watt-hours, divided by 12 V gives ampere-hours. Example: a cool box with an average of 40 W that runs for 10 hours needs 400 Wh, i.e. about 33 Ah per day. With AGM and GEL you should regularly use only about half of the rated capacity and plan a reserve for days without sun or shore power.

When comparing, pay attention to the reference value of the capacity, for example C20 or C100. It is stated in the item description.

AGM, GEL or LiFePO4?

  • AGM: delivers high currents and is suitable both as a starter battery and as a leisure battery. For a long service life it should not be deeply discharged on a regular basis.
  • GEL: copes well with slow, deep discharge and is mainly intended as a leisure battery. For high starting currents in a car, AGM is the better choice.
  • LiFePO4: lighter than lead batteries of the same capacity and can be discharged more deeply. Charger, DC-DC charger and solar controller need a LiFePO4 charging profile.

Charging correctly

Set your charger, DC-DC charger and solar controller to the matching charging profile, i.e. AGM or GEL. The permissible charging voltage is given in the item description.

Shipping, statutory warranty and old batteries

Orders received by 14:00 on working days are shipped the same day. Statutory warranty rights apply.

Old batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You can return them free of charge at municipal collection points or to retailers. Further information is available in the battery law notices at the bottom of this page.

Polarity

View the battery from the front, the terminals face forward. Positive (+) on the right = layout 0, positive on the left = layout 1. A swapped terminal usually doesn't fit because the cables are too short.
